Successful Launch of 2 Meteorological Remote Sensing Satellites Developed by Chang Guang Satellite

At 7:39(Beijing time)on May 31, 2024, China successfully launched five satellites including "Zhangjiang Hi-Tech" and "Nishuihan-2" by using the Ceres-1(RS-12)Rocket Launcher at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, the satellite entered the predetermined orbit successfully, and the launch mission achieved a complete success.

Among them, the "Zhangjiang Hi-Tech" satellite and the "Nishuihan-2" satellite are new meteorological observation small satellites jointly developed by Tianjin Yunyao Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd.and Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., which are the fourth batch of "Yunyao-1" batch-produced satellites. This series of satellites has been designed for batch production on the basis of the development of "TJU-1" satellite, which has the features of short development cycle, high integration, light weight, small volume, high cost performance, etc.. It is a typical application of implementing automated testing and general assembly in assembly line, and an important achievement of practicing the concept of batch production.

Both satellites are equipped with GNSS occultation receivers and long-wave infrared camera with dual payloads, through the inversion of GNSS occultation data, the temperature, humidity, pressure of the atmosphere and ionospheric electron density profile could be obtained, and the target radiance information could be obtained by the long-wave infrared camera to detect atmospheric and hotspot targets, which has a broad application prospect and value in the field of meteorological observation.
